It is important to filter your web content. This is a measure to try to keep bad websites out of your home. Despite your best efforts, there is still possibilities that bad sites can still sneak through. However, by using web filtering, you will minimize the malicious sites.
My first choice is to filter via OpenDNS. However, there are some advantages to using a client filtering software as well. When I had children in the home, I began using a free service called k9webprotection.com. It has matured quite well since then. This is also a free service that is funded by their work with businesses and they provide consumer protection for free.
